About the Author
Unlike other authors, Ruth Ann Nordin did not start out with a crayon and an urge to draw her very first story. She did not hold her little sister captive… Well, okay she did, but she didn’t do it through her amazing storytelling ability. (She would tie her little sister up and force her to play school.) She never won any awards or honorary mentions for anything she wrote. Ruth self-published because she knew the secular market didn’t want Christian values thrown at them and the Christian market didn’t want sex thrown at them. If you can’t fill an existing niche, might as well make your own. Stephannie Beman is a city girl turned ranch-hand, living in the original homestead cabin with her family and cooking on an old wood stove. Her teenage love of words and reading pretty much anything she could get her hands on only fueled her already fertile imagination which has heavily inspired her writing. Only after meeting her husband did a dash of romance and a pinch of erotica enter every story. Now they abound with forbidden love, sexy heroes, strong heroines, dark secrets, and passion. In her worlds legends walk, love is eternal, fables are alive, fairy tales have lessons to teach, and myths are survivors of bygone years.

The Stagecoach Bride

Lillian Christian escaped a bad situation just to be saved from another one. On her way to become a mail-order bride, she was kidnapped by the Nichols' gang. "Outlaw" Mic Lewis takes Lillian as a ransom from her intended Charles Gray. Charles' response is not what Mic or Lillian expected leading to a relationship that begins as a necessity.
As usual the main characters are well developed and you feel drawn into their lives and expectations of their futures. She gave us antagonists to hate and I easily despised Robert and Charles. I loved Jeremiah and am anxious to see what happens in Wade's future.
The sexual content plays a stronger role in this book, but not overly excessive. I enjoyed this story, the feel is a little different than some of the other stories I have read from Nordin, but I would read it again.
Thank you Ms. Nordin for many hours of reading pleasure.

The Stagecoach Bride By Ruth Ann Nordin & Stephannie Beman
Wild Hearts: Book 1
Lillian Christian had to learn to use her brain to get out of a nasty situation back in Virginia. Her brother was going to marry her off and her intended was not a nice guy. She decided to be a mail-order bride for a man in Wyoming with a young son. She planned well and managed to pull it off. Almost. Who knew her new intended had enemies that would find her a useful pawn in their private war?
Mic Lewis didn't like what his family was having to do, but what choice did they have? Charles Gray has something that belongs to them and so they would take something of his to bargain with, his future bride. Who knew that the green-eyed, red haired beauty would turn out to be nothing like he expected and turn his world more upside down than it already is?
An exciting story written by two different authors. It's full of adventure, humor, some very bad guys and of course romance. The secondary characters come to life as well. The angry Wade who was carrying a huge chip on his shoulder, the young, sweet and naive Noah and the bear of a man Jeremiah who was more than he seemed. Along with Abby and Caleb a wonderful story came to life, and I'm looking forward to the next books in this series. There is still a very bad guy on the loose and I'm sure that he's not done with this band of so-called outlaws.

If you are getting the kindle version of this book, I strongly encourage you not to buy it until you are ready to read it. What I mean is, if you read it within the first few days of purchase, you can do like I did and return it painlessly (i.e., with a few clicks of a button) for a refund.
One reviewer mentioned sexual content within marriage; another called this book clean. I like books to be clean myself. For me, though, this book didn't quite make the grade--either of being clean or of confining sexual content to marriage. The hero and heroine rubbed each other sexually frequently before marriage, and engaged in oral sex afterward. If you want a read by Ruth Ann Nordin that is clean (i.e., doesn't have any sexual content at all), I encourage you to try, "A Bride for Tom." Other books I've read by her have sexual content within marriage, and one or two of them--such as The Earl's Inconvenient Wife--have oral sex in them.
In another vein entirely, I will say that this book could use a good going over by an editor. Words (such as the verb) were left out, making the meaning confusing and unclear, and making reading annoying. She switches back and forth between "it'd" meaning "it would" (my understanding of the contraction), and "it had," which made reading it more annoying. It is a pet peeve of mine, too, when an author fails to demonstrate any familiarity with the subjunctive mood by using "was" for "were" in "if...then" clauses, a failure that is VERY FREQUENT in this genre.
At one point the characters remark something to the effect that their situation was more ridiculous than that of a dime novel (a price that might have been quite high at that time and a genre that is probably similar to the penny dreadfuls). I was inclined to agree. For example, a girl of 15 is supposed to be the full sister of a guy of 30 whose father died before he was born. In other respects I found the book hard to make sense of and relate to as resembling real life at some long-ago time--or ANY time, for that matter. I haven't read her "Stars" series, but this aspect of this book seemed a little uncharacteristic of Ruth Ann Nordin to me based on the other books I've read by her.
I may not be ready to give up on Ruth Ann Nordin, but I definitely got more than enough of this book and am not overly inclined to read anything else by the other author.
