I understand the need for structuring a piece of writing but I'm not good at ahereing to the principle. I'm less thrilled with canning when the temperatures soar but seeing the fruits of my labour lining the pantry shelves is food for my soul. I own few pieces of furniture that havent been owned by someone before me and when it comes to animals, well, there's always room for one more". "I'm saddened by the state of the world and often disappointed by those from whom you expect more - but I do believe there is a change that is about to happen. I love to witness the unconcious expression of life through art, words and music - in all their many and various forms. I got this as a birthday present and I was like ok it's kinda thin but maybe it has some interesting things in it. I love Trent and I believe in reincarnation so hmmm lets see. I wasn't disappointed cause I didn't have high hopes. First, and most irritating imo, is the numerous grammatical errors throughout the book. Words stuck together, Sentences that drop off without completing the thought. I even saw errors in the quotes they had in the book. The information that you get about Trent Reznor is stuff that almost any fan of his would probably know. In the intro the author explains that she apparently did a type of Ouija board reading with a crystal and got in contact with a daimon that told her this story. The past life story is about a guy and his two brothers and little paragraphs are stuck in at random sections of the book. They are supposed to be ancestors of Trent but even if that is true the info given is sparse and could easily have been made up because most of it (short of names) wouldn't be in any record.
Soooo skip all that and towards the end of the book you get a hunk of info, kinda like a little pamphlet, on what reincarnation is. Seeing as how I believe in reincarnation and have researched the occult for many years I skipped this section (also by this point I was like this chick has to be making this up cause it's like random s*** thrown together that you're tryna connect somehow). So yeah to conclude the book she says that Trent and his ancestor were both depressed, lonely and were talented...So he must be reincarnated...Yeah I wouldn't waste your 9 dollars.

Not what I expected .. Nice Surprise

I won't ruin the surprise for you. Let's just say that this is a quick read, and is truly more than just a boring old biography. Although the details are concise, it is an interesting read.

I would not have paid for this had I know what was in it. Only about half to two-thirds of it is NIN/Reznor related since every chapter begins with 1-3 pages of this supposed parallel narrative crap that has nothing to do with why you bought the book. Maybe that's the part that makes it "More than a biography". The remaining info actually related to Reznor is all stuff you could get outta google. The majority of it actually could be found in a wiki page. Aside from the introductory family history, there's very little in this book you wouldn't already know just by being a fan.
